No. 8 (SEC 4): The Lamb Exalted High
Scriptures: Revelation 5:12 • John 1:29
Tune: Rockingham • Meter: 8.8.8.8 (LM) • Key: B♭ Major
The Lamb exalted high we sing,
The Lord of lords, eternal King.
He bore our sins, His blood was shed,
He lives, triumphant from the dead.
All glory, honor, power, and praise,
To Him our joyful hearts we raise!
The Lamb exalted high shall reign,
Who died, and rose, and lives again!
“Worthy the Lamb,” His hosts proclaim,
The choirs of heaven bless His name.
With ceaseless praise they bow before,
The Lamb exalted evermore.
3:
Behold the Lamb, who takes away
The heavy guilt we could not pay;
His mercy flows, a crimson tide,
The Lamb exalted, crucified!
4:
Let wisdom, honor, strength, and might,
Be His who dwells in glorious light;
All tongues unite, their voices raise,
The Lamb exalted, crowned with praise.
5:
O Church of Christ, lift up your song,
And join the vast celestial throng;
Through endless years His throne shall stand,
The Lamb exalted, in command!
A young believer named Daniel had always dreamed of owning his own business. His heart burned with ambition, and he felt certain that success was just a matter of hard work and determination. When the idea came to him, he rushed forward with excitement, ignoring the gentle caution of his pastor who advised, “Wait, pray, and let God confirm the timing.”
Daniel brushed off the counsel, convinced that delay meant missed opportunity. He borrowed money, signed contracts, and opened his doors with great fanfare. But within months, the business collapsed. Bills piled up, customers dwindled, and his confidence shattered. He felt not only financial loss but also the sting of pride — realizing he had leaned on his own understanding instead of God’s wisdom.
In the quiet aftermath, Daniel humbled himself. He returned to prayer, seeking God’s direction with patience. He sat again with his pastor, this time listening carefully. Together they prayed, planned, and sought wise mentors. Daniel spent months preparing — studying the market, refining his vision, and waiting for God’s peace to guide him.
When he finally launched again, the difference was remarkable. The business flourished, not because of Daniel’s strength alone, but because he had aligned his steps with God’s timing and wisdom. Customers came steadily, finances stabilized, and his testimony became a beacon to others.
Like Ruth, who listened patiently to Naomi’s counsel and found favor through obedience, Daniel discovered that patience in listening to wisdom saved him from failure and opened the door to lasting success. His story became a reminder that rushing ahead can lead to collapse, but waiting on God’s timing brings fruit that endures.

Am I patient enough to seek advice before acting, or do I rush into decisions without guidance?
Proverbs 19:20 — “Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise.”
Meditate daily on this verse, asking God to make your heart teachable.
Before making any major decision this week, wait 24 hours. Use that time to pray and seek counsel.
