Faith in the face of uncertainty
🏵️Memory Verse🏵️
Matthew 14:22-33 (NIV):
It Reads....
22. Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd.
23. After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone.
24. And the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.
25. Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.
26. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. "It's a ghost," they said, and cried out in fear.
27. But Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid."
28. "Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water."
29. "Come," he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
30. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!"
31. Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"
32. And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.
33. Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."

🍁Message 🍁
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, we live in uncertain times. The world around us is constantly changing, and we face challenges that can leave us feeling anxious, fearful, and uncertain about the future. But as Christians, we are called to have faith in the face of uncertainty.
In Matthew 14:22-33, we read the story of Jesus walking on water. The disciples were in a boat, struggling against the wind and waves, when Jesus came to them, walking on the water. Peter, being the impulsive disciple he was, asked Jesus to command him to come to Him on the water. And Jesus said, "Come."
Peter got out of the boat and started walking on the water towards Jesus. But when he saw the wind and the waves, he began to sink. Jesus immediately reached out and caught him, saying, "You of little faith, why did you doubt?"
The story of Peter walking on water teaches us several lessons about faith in the face of uncertainty:
1. Faith requires action:
Peter didn't just sit in the boat and wait for Jesus to come to him. He got out of the boat and started walking on the water. Our faith requires us to take action, to step out of our comfort zones and trust in God.
2. Faith is not the absence of fear:
Peter was afraid when he saw the wind and the waves. But he didn't let his fear control him. He took action, and he trusted in Jesus. Our faith is not the absence of fear, but the willingness to trust in God despite our fears.
3. Faith requires perseverance: Peter started to sink when he doubted Jesus. But Jesus didn't let him sink. He reached out and caught him. Our faith requires us to persevere, to keep trusting in God even when things seem impossible.
🌹Call to Action🌹
As we face uncertain times, let us remember to have faith in God's goodness and providence. Let us take action, trusting in God's power and presence in our lives. Let us persevere, even when things seem impossible.
🔥Closing Prayer🔥
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for your Word that reminds us to have faith in your goodness and providence. Help us to trust in you, even when things seem uncertain. Give us the courage to take action, and the perseverance to keep trusting in you. In Jesus' name, we pray.
