Stewards of God's Authority: Remembering Joseph's Example.

⭐Introduction⭐

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Today, we reflect on a crucial aspect of our faith: God's sovereignty and human authority. The Bible teaches us that all authority comes from God, and those in positions of power are accountable to Him. Let's explore what this means for us, particularly through the example of Joseph in the book of Genesis.

Point 1: God's Sovereignty Over All Authorities

Our first text is Romans 13:1-2, which says, "Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established." This reminds us that God's sovereignty extends over all authorities, whether spiritual, governmental, or social. Leaders are not above God's law but are rather stewards of His will.

In Psalm 75:7, we read, "But God is the Judge: He puts down one and exalts another." This underscores that leaders are accountable to God, and their authority is not absolute but derived from Him.

Point 2: Joseph's Example of Faithful Stewardship.

Our second text is Genesis 41:37-44. Here, we see Joseph, a man of faith and wisdom, elevated to authority in Egypt. Despite facing adversity and betrayal, Joseph remained humble and faithful.

Joseph's example teaches us valuable lessons:

- Humility: Joseph recognized his authority came from God.
- Wisdom: He used his position for the greater good, saving Egypt from famine.
- Faithfulness: Joseph remained committed to God despite trials.

Point 3: Doing the Right Thing in Power.

Authority brings responsibilities. Leaders must use their positions for justice, compassion, and service. In Matthew 20:26, Jesus teaches, "Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant." True leadership is about serving others, not personal gain.

God judges leaders' actions and intentions. In 1 Samuel 2:30, we read, "Those who honor Me I will honor." Leaders must remember that their authority is a trust from God.

Conclusion:

In summary, we've seen that:

- God's sovereignty extends over all authorities.
- Joseph's example shows us faithful stewardship.
- Leaders must use their authority responsibly.

As we close, let us remember that our ultimate authority is God. May we, like Joseph, use our influence for His glory and the greater good.

⭐Let us Pray⭐
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you today with humble hearts, acknowledging the weight of responsibility that comes with leadership. We pray that you would guide our leaders, that they would seek wisdom and justice, and that they would use their positions of power to serve and uplift others.

Help them to remember that they will one day answer to you for the decisions they made and the opportunities they had to make a difference. May they be motivated by a desire to serve you and your people, rather than personal gain or ambition.

We pray for courage and conviction for all those in positions of authority, that they would stand up for what is right, even when it's difficult. And we pray for wisdom and discernment, that they would know how best to serve and lead.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

Don't forget to share this message to your family and friends, including those in higher authority.

God bless you as you do His will.
